This story starts with a nod to the aviation world. The plane engine seen in a museum, an experimental double wasp, had almost corrugated fins creating considerably more surface area for cooling. After Dan Thayer thought about it for years, it came to life. It is the first ever motorcycle engine to be modified the same way. Each fin required 4 hours of bridgeport time to make the cuts, resulting in over 100 total hours labor time to complete the engine. When a customer walked past the bridgeport during the procss, he said "Holy Sh*t! Is that for a nuclear reactor?!" The name stuck, and the reactor cut was born.
